Located on the Akila planet in the Cheyenne system, the Akila City is the capital of the Freestar Collective, one of Starfield’s factions.

Akila City in Starfield
In Starfield, Akila City is one of the major cities that serve as a quest and trading hub for players. Akila planet society is a member of the Freestar Collective faction, a unified loose confederation of three different star systems that sought to remain independent from the United Colonies during the Colony War of 2310-2330. The Freestar Collective believes in personal freedoms and individuality no matter your ethnicity, race or past. Alongside the United Colonies, Freestar Collective is one of the two main powers in the Settled Systems.
Founded in 2167 by Solomon Coe, Akila City is a much more rugged hub than any other human activity in the galaxy’s urbanized planets. Its citizens, of many different professionals and traders, know how to live and survive planet sandy, hush environment and high temperatures, but the actual danger comes from Ashanta, aliens described as a cross between a wolf and a velociraptor. High walls surround Akila city to protect society from this deadly predator species native to Akila.
Vendors and Other Locations in the Akila City
During the recent Starfield direct gameplay showcase, we could spot three shops in the background:
- Shepherd’s General Store – The name indicates a vendor of various goods.
- Rowland Arms – Most likely an armor, weapon or gear vendor.
- The Hitching – Not much is known, but some sources suggest a bar, tavern or an Akila Citiy main quest hub
- Coe Plaza
We can easily assume that Starfield’s second-biggest city will also have a docking area for ships and many locations where you can pick up new quests and learn more about the city.
Companions from Akila City?
The city resembles the well-known Tatooine from Star Wars and gives serious cowboy and Western vibes. It’s mostly covered with deserts heaving very high max temperatures and cold nights all year, regardless of the season. Presumably, it’s also connected to one of the available companions and romance options Sam Coe. He shares the surname with Akila’s City founder, which most likely isn’t a coincidence, and during planets, and its planet exploration, we’ll learn more about this interesting cowboy past or family.
