Starfield Weapons

Let’s take a look at what Starfield Weapons will be available in the game, and what kind of advantages and disadvantages each type has. What will be your preferred weapon of choice when you play?

The first new intellectual property developed by Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years, Starfield is a hotly anticipated AAA single player, action role playing game which takes place across the vastness of space. This space exploration game will have many of the typical Bethesda game hallmarks – a robust main story and side quests, elaborate character creation, and an extraordinary amount of exploration.

Starfield Weapons

Weapons will be an important part of the gameplay in Starfield, as the player will need to be able to protect themselves from enemy NPCs as well as potentially from some of the more aggressive creatures which inhabit the many planets in the game.

Most of the combat in Starfield looks to be based on gun play, so expect to see a variety of pistols, assault rifles, Sniper rifles, and shotguns available to use. Gameplay reveal footage has also shown the player character using grenades, so likely different types of thrown projectiles will be available to the player as well. No melee weapons have yet been seen – that doesn’t necessarily mean that there won’t be some kind of handheld sword, club, or knives available for players who prefer that type of combat, but they will likely be rarer than the guns.

Weapons should be available through purchase from merchants, as quest rewards, drops from enemies, and built through crafting. No specific details on any of the weapons for Starfield have been released, but you can see the potential for researching and crafting upgrades in the Research Laboratory UI below.
